I have to admit that my heart sank just a little when I saw this slot. It was caused by the cats. Now, I know some people love them, and enjoy a glitzy slot with furry friends staring back at you from the reels. For me, this kind of slot (and famous rivals including Kitty Glitter from IGT and OMG Kittens! From WMS) are just plain wrong. On the plus side, a free spins game with sticky wilds did help – and the top prizes are very generous from what can start as a penny slot.
As with most Amatic slots, the visual design is solid and functional – rather than detailed or attractive. There is an almost kitsch leopard skin look to the outside of the reels, which has been shaded blue. The background to the reels is also blue, and the symbols are mostly full-face portraits of different cats.
There is a white one with a pink background, two grey ones, a Siamese one, a ginger one and a tabby one. All look right at you from the reels. Just in case you needed a little more glamour, there is also a princess (complete with diamond tiara) – which I’m assuming has the diamond part of the title covered. A pink gem makes up the wild symbol, a pink box with ‘bonus spins’ triggers the free spins game – and playing card symbols (which are a lot more soberly designed) complete the set.
Unlike many Amatic slots, you’ll get animations on the reels for winning combinations. What happens is that the symbol ‘zooms out’ on the cats involved in wins, showing the entire cat, which then gets surrounded by different coloured sparking stars.
You can choose up to 20 win-lines for this game. There is a button (marked ‘Lines’) which adjusts this. Alternatively you can click on the total number of coins to be bet on the right, which brings out bars from either side of the reels so you can adjust the lines and coins bet visually. You can play for just 1 penny, or spin up to $10 in one go. Auto-play (labelled auto-start) and gamble after win are also options.
The pay table shows wins which adjust according to your bet size. These start with 5 of the Bonus Spins logos on a win-line, which is worth 100x your total bet amount. Three or more of these symbols also triggers the bonus game of 10 free spins.
Next comes the princess, at 50x your bet for 5 going down to 2.5x your bet for 3. The cats are worth between 3000 and 5000 for 5, with the playing cards making up the smaller wins. The Wild hearts will substitute for everything except the bonus symbols to create wins. My experience was that the stacked symbols on the reels often led to wins coming in small groups – rather than one at a time.
The main attraction is the free spins bonus, which comes with those sticky wilds. While your mileage may vary, it only takes a few well-placed wilds early in the game to urn this bonus into a big sized wins. If you love cats, and enjoy the more glitzy type of slots – then this one is a must see for you!
